Adventures in Art 2011: Twelve Bar Blues - August 29- September 2. Adventures in Art is a field trip component of a community-based, art education program for all 4th and 5th grade students attending Auburn City Schools. This year, the focus is on the preservation of Alabama Blues music as a traditional and contemporary art form. Students will be introduced to Alabama folk artist Charlie Lucas, attend an interactive poetry workshop on spoken word poetry, receive a gallery talk, and participate in a performance workshop.

Children’s Art - will be offered in the summer session. Interactive Art History- A unique course, where art history is combined with hands on art activities for children 4th grade and up through adults. It is an in depth chronological art study beginning with ancient cave paintings and moving through the 20th century. Includes over 75 PowerPoint presentations. Students will acquire critiquing skills and knowledge that is not offered in the regular academic classroom.
Photography Instruction - Photography I is a twelve week class offered to adults and children 4th-8th grade. This is an introductory course and is a prerequisite for photography II and III.

Horseback Riding

Youth Tackle Football - Ages 8 & 9 and 10-12 years as of July 31, 2011. Join this full contact tackle sport. Players must provide their own equipment, which must meet NOCSAE standards. This season is designed to learn the basic skills of lacrosse and practice fundamentals in order to properly learn the game and for players to be prepared for the spring season. This league is open to first time as well as experienced players.

Fall Instructional League - August 8 - September 1. This league is a training league to prepare players for Auburn Parks and Rec. normal fall baseball leagues. Instruction in machine and kid pitch for 7-12 year olds. $175- 4 weeks of instruction and games.
Fall Instructional Wood Bat Baseball League - Mondays, 5:30-7:30 pm, September 26 - October 24. Players train and improve skills in preparation for their upcoming season. Open to any high school baseball player who is currently in 9th-12thgrade. $350 per player, includes Sports Academy game jersey, 5 training sessions, 1 long toss session (pitchers) and 8 games. Wood bats also included.
